Other than your soul, time is the most valuable asset God has given you. How you chose to use it is an indication of your values and character.
We generally spend time on things we value. If I took a peek at your calendar, I’ll have a pretty good idea about the things you value. The reason is simple: what spend your time on things you value. If you’re investing in things you don’t value, you’re wasting your time?
Time is also priceless because it cannot be replenished once spent. In other words, it is limited in supply on this earth until the second coming of Christ, where He will reward those who believed in Him with unlimited time (i.e. eternal life).
How people treat your time is an indication of their value for you. People who don’t respect your time don’t value you…stay away from them.
Jesus went into Nazareth and his time was wasted because his people did not believe him. The Bible said He did no miracles there and he departed. They didn’t value his time and he did no miracles there. Mathew 13:58
Jesus also says if anyone will not receive you when you go into a city depart from that city and, shake the dust off your feet and depart. Mark 6:11. The message is clear: don’t spend time with people who don’t value your gifts.
Time also symbolizes order. That’s why everything we do in life has a start and end time. Solomon declared in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (KJV) “To everything, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.”
When you go to work, it starts at a certain time and ends at a certain time. You are required to be there at a certain time and leave at a certain time. You get rewarded for your time. If you don’t show up on time you lose your reward (or your job) because you have no respect for time.
The doctor’s office has time, otherwise, there would be chaos at the hospital. The Bible says there’s a seed, time, and harvest. Even nature respect time. Plants grow and bear fruits at a certain time.
School starts and ends at a certain time otherwise there would be chaos at the school.
Churches should start and end on time. Perhaps the reason people don’t come to your church is that you don’t start and end on time. When you don’t start or end your services on time, you send a message to your members and guests that your time is more important than there’s. Please end the service; it’s not the anointing, you’re just staying too long. ?
Take note: Jesus said even when it comes to prayer, don’t waste time praying too long and repeating your words as if God didn’t hear you the first time or He didn’t already know what you were going to say before you said it. Those who pray openly and too long just to be seen are hypocrites, He declared. Matthew 6:7-8 (KJV) “But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye, therefore, like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of before ye ask him.
Don’t waste TIME chasing after things that won’t chase after you in return. Don’t waste TIME pursuing a job that does not pursue you. If you’ve applied for a job and called them twice and they have not returned your call, move on to the next one.
It is said of those who are dying, their greatest regret is that they didn’t have enough TIME to spend with their loved ones. Use your TIME wisely while you still have it.
In conclusion, some doors are shut before us not because satan has shut it, but because it’s not yet TIME. The devil cannot shut doors that God opens and cannot open doors God shuts. When God shuts a door, no one can open it. When he opens a door no one can shut it. So use some of your time to wait on God’s timing for your life.
